If the home passed to the heirs outside probate, for example through joint ownership or a trust, the owners can often sell it much like any other home. If the house is part of the estate, you sell the house in probate: the personal representative signs for the estate, and the estate attorney confirms that authority before the listing goes live. Selling a house in probate in Maryland is common, and families selling their parents' house often face both the paperwork and the work of clearing a lifetime of belongings.
